Hi, I’m catherine - co-founder of seam2seam studio and the studio’s lead tutor.

My love for sewing started early, sitting on my great granny’s knee at her treadle sewing machine and making Barbie clothes alongside my mum and auntie as they stitched garments for the whole family. That early inspiration sparked a lifelong passion for creating.

As a teenager, I was part of the mod scene and loved using my mum’s fabric stash to sew unique outfits for weekends out. I’ve always been drawn to reusing and reinventing clothing, often finding pieces in charity shops and transforming them to match my vision. Over the years, I’ve made everything from everyday wear to my daughter’s wedding dress.

I’m committed to continually developing my skills and have earned distinctions in both pattern cutting and tailoring. I regularly attend advanced sewing and design courses at Trent University to stay current and inspired. At Seam2Seam Studio, I’m excited to share the techniques I’ve learnt and help other build confident in their own sewing journeys.

Hi, I’m deborah - co-founder of seam2seam studio.

Creativity has always been at the heart of everything I do. With a background in textiles and fashion design, I’ve combined my passion for sewing with years of experience in retail to create a welcoming space where others can explore and enjoy the art of making.

You’ll often find me in the studio, where I am always happy to help. I also work behind the scenes making sure everything runs smoothly. I’m so excited to share this creative journey with you!
